How to transfer inventory between two stores
When one location is running low on supplies, you can transfer stock from another store in your company without creating a purchase order. Transfers are tracked so both stores' inventory counts stay accurate.
Before you start
- You must have the Manage Inventory permission for both the source and destination stores.
- Confirm the source store has sufficient stock before initiating the transfer.
Steps
- From the sidebar, open Inventory and click the Transfers tab.
- Click New Transfer and choose the Source Store (where stock is coming from) and the Destination Store (where it is going).
- In the items list, search for each product you want to transfer and enter the Quantity to move. Add as many line items as needed.
- Review the transfer summary, then click Submit Transfer. The source store's on-hand count decreases immediately and the destination store shows the items as Incoming.
- Once the destination store receives the goods, a manager there opens the transfer, confirms the received quantities, and clicks Mark Received. Both inventory counts are updated and the transfer is closed.
